Landbased ActivitiesLand based Activities All land activities require you to bring waterproof/ windproof jacket/ top, sturdy footwear, sunglasses and sun block for you to wear. All land based activities run twice a day from 9.30am and again at 1.30pm at the most suited and nearest location for the activity, wherever you are based in Cornwall. Whether you’re after a weeks fun, few days, a full day or a half days activities we have something for everyone. You can also mix up your activities for a full day of fun, i.e. starting the day with a Coasteering session, then a spot of lunch at one of our finest local restaurants followed by an afternoon on the beach Traction Kiting. All activities are tailor made to your abilities, whether you want to get the adrenaline pumping, push yourself to the extreme or take it all in and relax. waterbased activitiesWe have it all at Vertical descents for an amazing day out. Remember the kite you had when you were kid? Power Kiting 1HOUR £25.00 HALF DAY £40.00 FULL DAY £60.00 Well our kites are just a bit bigger... well a whole lot bigger and they will blow you away. This session will allow participants the chance to learn a skill comfortably, under the close supervision of our instructors. We will teach you how to skid around the beach and control the power of the wind. This is a relaxing and extremely fun way to spend a few hours for anyone. Kiting is great for everyone, from the extremist to families with young or older children. Beginner to intermediate level kiting lessons available, to all groups and individuals. You will need to bring with you - A Waterproof/ windproof jacket/ top, sturdy footwear, sunglasses and sun block for you to wear. All youngsters must be accompanied by an adult. Just the most amazing experience, great fun and highly addictive. If you’ve never kited before we recommend you book a full day session so you learn to manoeuvre, control, and harness the power of the kite and wind in the morning, then have the afternoon learning how to steer your way around the beach on an all terrain board being powered by your kite. We will teach you all you need to know to be comfortable to move forward with this great sport. We also offer intermediate to advanced coaching, so if you want to do tricks we have got the tips.HALF DAY £40.00 FULL DAY £75.00 You will need to bring with you - A Waterproof/ windproof jacket/ top, sturdy footwear, sunglasses and sun block. Want to learn new tricks, improve your turns, learn how to fly up wind, improve your board / buggy control and style or get hints and tips on your techniques to make you fly the wind with ease. Video Coaching Sessions Or combine a few of these great coaching techniques to give you the abilities you require. Guided coastal walks HALF DAY £25.00 FULL DAY £50.00 Cornwall has some of the most rugged and beautiful coastline in the U.K and Vertical Descents offers guided tours giving you the local knowledge. See historic interests on route, see wildlife at its best and be directed to the best public houses or tea-rooms. Whatever level of walk you would like to do our guided expeditions are available to all groups and individuals. Minimum no. 2 You will need to bring with you - A Waterproof jacket/ top, Walking boot/ shoes, drinking water, sunglasses and sun block. All youngsters must be accompanied by an adult. Coastaleering HALF DAY £40.00 The dry version of Coasteering means for those who want to explore the deeper side of the coastline without getting wet can. A combination of rock climbing and scrambling takes you to places you would otherwise not see. So get a different perspective on the coast whilst exploring and discovering what lay out of view. Minimum no. 2 You will need to bring with you - A Waterproof jacket/ top, sturdy footwear, drinking water, sunglasses and sun block. All youngsters must be accompanied by an adult. Rock pooling for Families & Nippers HALF DAY £20.00 This focuses on Ecology and the Cornish art of wrecking on the beach, explaining how this precious ecosystem is so valuable to us. You will see a wide variety of flora, wildlife and glimpse of the history of Kernow. Great for all ages and abilities. With this we also offer educational packages and fun games for children and families, focusing on discovering the hidden world beneath the seaweed. Vertical Descents offers a variety of different types of Biking from leisurely rides along the camel trail to more strenuous off-road routes through the moor of Bodmin. We offer full and half day mountain biking expeditions around Cornwall. We can bring the bikes to you or you can meet us at the start of one of our well used routes. With fully qualified guides and technicians you will have a real adventure in the saddle. If you would like more information, please call or email us. Mountain Boarding HALF DAY £35.00 FULL DAY £65.00 Mountain Boarding is one of the most exhilarating activities available on land. Using an off road skateboard you will be taught how to ride the hill like a snowboarder. We will teach you all of the basics to get you going and progress from there. This activity is great fun for every one and can be a great activity whatever the weather. You will be gliding down the grassy slopes in no time. You will need to bring with you - A Waterproof jacket/ top, sturdy footwear, trousers (not shorts etc) and sun block. All youngsters must be accompanied by an adult. With Vertical Descents we also capture your great day out in and out of the water, as a family momento, to show friends or prove to those in the office what you got up to on your holiday.
